The TP655 dual-purpose tape consists of an anthracite PU foam between 2 airtight foam layers. The middle layer connects the airtight cover foams and blocks any air flow through the tape.

Application area:

The TP655 dual-purpose tape is used for driving-rain-resistant sealing of edge joints on windows and doors. It offers a high level of airtightness and thermal and acoustic insulation.

Advantages:

  • Extremely rainproof and airtight

  • Simple installation, no specified orientation of the tape

  • Secure, airtight installation on the window frame and on the wall due to the 3-layer foam structure

  • Meets all DIN 18542 requirements for MF1 classification

  • Driving-rain-resistant up to 900 Pa and an air permeability value of << 0.1 m³/h⋅m

Advice:

Store the rolls horizontally and in their original packaging at temperatures between +1 °C and +20 °C in a dry location protected against direct sunlight. Re-seal the packaging between uses to prevent expansion during storage.

The tape must not come into contact with chemicals containing solvents or corrosive substances.

In the case of low installation temperatures, the rolls should be stored at room temperature for at least 6 hours prior to installing.

Application:
1. Select the appropriate tape size after determining the depth of the window frame and the width of the joint and ensuring that the total movement is within the capacity of the selected tape size.

2. Remove any dirt or mortar residue from the reveal. Areas where there are significant irregularities or damage should be touched up on-site with a suitable mortar.

3. Cut off the wedge-shaped section at the beginning of the roll before applying a new roll.

4. Apply the adhesive tape to the outer edge of the window frame, without wrinkles, 1 to 3 mm away from the outer surface of the frame. Use a separate piece of tape for each side to be sealed.

5. It is preferable to apply vertical joints from bottom to top, cutting the tape to length with an overhang in the upper corner according to the upper joint width. Do not run the tape around corners. Instead, cut the tape and place the ends vertically flush against each other.

6. Drill holes in the tape at the designated window fixing screw positions. This prevents the tape from wrapping around the screw. The window is then inserted directly into the opening and secured by the frame. The window can be secured either by the frame or using fixing lugs/brackets.

7. We recommend sealing any defects on corners, joints or anchors using S78 bond and seal sealant (0898 511 2).

8. For the bottom seal under the windowsill, we recommend the Vario window sealing tape (0800 500 ...). Please refer to the relevant data sheets.
